Latest Tamara Hope Palm Pre Ads: Oh, too creepy for ya? How about these?

It's about time the Ad Maker of the 'Palm Pre Girl Ads' realize that the ads weren't as effective as they were hoping for... Getting someone to check out the Pre that is (But not the case when it comes to getting people to talk about them). So they rolled out 2 revised version of the Tamara Hope Pre commercials, they got rid of the whole Tamara Hope rambling part, and just let the Pre speak for itself. Probably, the way they should've done it in the first place. But, hey, it was late, but they got it now.

The 'new' ads are much shorter too, about half the time vs. the 'creepy' ones. And I just love how at the beginning, Tamara looks at the camera holding the Palm Pre as if she wanted to say something. If she did, what you think it would be?

I think you are on a wrong track here. Those two ads don't replace the old ones. They complement them. The new ones just work because of the attention from the old ones.

I dunno, they seem very out of place. The beginning is very strange where she just holds up the pre and puts it down. Feels very hacked together.

This whole ad campaign was a disaster, nearly on par with the Microsoft/Jerry Seinfeld ones. Sure, it got people talking, but most "wtf was palm thinking?"

I have to wonder at the sexual orientation of all the people that think the Tamara ads are "creepy". There seems to be a dearth of testicles in that grouping.

these ads suck. period. the camera is so far away that you have no idea what she is doing on the pre.

She still feels to prominent in the commercials when you consider both time and space. I'm glad they focused on a specific feature. But still a little strange. I like the Now/Pre commercials a better.

I'm glad to see them tightening up these things (15 seconds instead of 30...that's a way to save some money). You can actually tell a lot in 15 seconds without rambling on about jugglers and reincarnation. Show the features, close up, get some good fast-paced cuts in there, kick the music up a few notches, and show what a great phone the Pre is! And maybe if they fire Modernista, that would be good too. I like the John Woo explosions idea -- always good for Spike or TruTV! :)
