PreDevCamp Meeting in Sunnyvale at Palm's HQ; The Photo Story

The PreDevCamp held this last Saturday at Palm's headquarters in Sunnyvale was a fine outing of the Developers who have worked very hard to get to this point. Big props must to out to Luke Kilpatrick for stepping in with 11 days notice to put the event together and to all the others that assisted predevcampsf to organizing the event.

As Palm's headquarters in Sunnyvale, the meeting room was just off of the Cafeteria in near the front of the building. Donors managed to get sodas and water for the attendees and pizzas were on their way later in the day from Roundtable.

The space was filled pretty quickly with many of the attendees standing in the back and on the sides of the meeting room. Coders from all over including the writer of the Twee app (not to be confused with Pivotal Labs Tweed app), from Utah, was in attendance as well.

Palm Pre Public SDK Will be Coming "Very Close to Launch"

According to news Reports at GearLog, Palm's VP of Global Sales, Mr. Dave Whalen, said at a press conference this morning that Developers wait will end soon. Mr. Whalen said that the public SDK is "Very Close to Launch." He also stated that since the Mojo SDK is based off of Web Page design languages as CSS and Javascript, the SDK design would allow developers to get up to speed extremely quickly to develop applications for the Palm WebOS. This is good news for the group over at preDevCamp as they have been working feverously with Palm. Palm is being very supportive of the preDevCamp and they are working out the best ways for them to provide assistance to the numerous events.

preDevCamp is on Saturday, August 8th, 2009

Palm WILL Support preDevCamp (Smart Move)

First off, for those that don't know what preDevCamp is, basically it's an "upcoming not-for-profit gathering to develop applications for Palm Pre using both the Mojo SDK and traditional web standards. The event is currently being planned in over 60 cities around the world."

About 2 days ago, the preDevCamp crew got the news that Palm will NOT support them. And many of the members expressed their anger towards Palm's stupidity. That they are leaving their role in preDevCamp and possibly joining the "iPhoneDevCamp"!

Well, yesterday, Pam Deziel, the Vice President, Developer Marketing for Palm, announced that Palm WILL in fact, support the preDevCamp! Kudos to Palm...
